Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dangerous. At heights. Noisy. Work setting: Various locations. Industrial. Tasks: Select, measure, cut, ream and thread pipe. Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment. Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools. Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines. Install supports, valves, piping and control systems. Test system for leaks using testing equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate. Apprenticeship training: Level one apprenticeship training. Level two apprenticeship training. Level three apprenticeship training. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Team player. Reliability.
