Job SummaryCarbonear General Hospital?s OBS/GYN department is comprised of a total of three full-time specialist who are accountable for the provision of comprehensive health care services to patients receiving care. The successful candidate will be expected to share 24 hour on call services. The hospital has 70 acute care beds with a 6 bed ICU. Specialty services include; Anesthesia, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Family Medicine (Hospitalist) and 24-hour Emergency coverage. Further supportive services include, 24-hour diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, Chemotherapy, Pharmacy, Dialysis, ICU/Cardiac and Palliative Care. There are visiting services for ophthalmology and urology. The daily locum rate is $1335 for every 24-hour period worked and pro-rated for less than 24 hours. There is a daily meal allowance of $52.44 per day for each day worked (up to 14 days). If travelling in a personal vehicle, a mileage rate determined by the provincial government is paid. A vehicle rental can be approved upon request and the gas receipts will be reimbursed (no mileage will be paid). If traveling to the province, the most economical airline flights will be approved, along with the rental of a mid-size car. Gas receipts will be reimbursed.
