The region is home to several diverse communities, including several unincorporated communities; eight municipalities, and four First Nations communities.Under the supervision of the Accountant, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing and processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures. The Accounts Payable Clerk is located out of our Cranbrook BC Office.Qualifications and Experience: One-year Accounting Certificate One-year accounting experience. One-year accounts payable experience.Key Skills and Abilities: Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and financial software. Engage with fellow employees, the public, and outside agencies in a courteous manner. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for local government. Maintain composure and find solutions when dealing with difficult customers. Maintain sustained attention to detail in applying accounting principles and practices with a high degree of accuracy. Organize work schedule to meet deadlines and priorities.
