As a Security Guard your role will be to watch and patrol the plant, office and grounds to defend against damage, theft, threats, or harm caused by intruders. Duties are performed unarmed. Walks or drives around premises to insure building and gate security. Maintains a lookout at exits to guard against theft and loss. Inspects identification of persons prior to entering areas. We are a manufacturing facility. *Key Responsibilities and Duties:* * Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, lights, equipment, and gates * Monitor controls that regulate building systems such as heating, air conditioning, lights, furnaces, etc. * Immediately responds to alarms and investigate disturbances * Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, contractors, and other persons to guard again theft and maintain security of premises * Open buildings for authorized entries * Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Assist emergency personnel as appropriate * Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences * Control vehicle traffic within gated compound and parking lots * Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours and when switchboard is closed * Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and evict violators of premises * Complete minor quick-fixes and adjustments to eliminate personal and property damage *Other Duties, but not limited to:* Drive staff to hospital/emergency or to specified locations if required * Scan office documents (during all available time) * Coordinate the use of the company fleet vehicles, including monitoring of basic maintenance, fueling, and cleaning of such vehicles * Clean doorways and walkways of snow and debris (Operate snow blower) *Qualifications:* * Minimum of (1) year of relevant experience * Valid Manitoba driver?s license * Criminal record check and child abuse registry check * Licensed, trained and tested according to the Manitoba Private Investigators and Security Guards Act *Working Conditions:* * 40 hour work week evenings and nights in 8 or 10 hour days * Sitting for long periods of time * Considerable time spent of feet, patrolling grounds * Work indoors and outdoors Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $16.50 per hour Benefits: * Casual dress * Company events * Dental care * Disability insurance * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Paid time off * RRSP match * Vision care Schedule: * 10 hour shift * 8 hour shift * Holidays * Morning shift * Night shift * Overtime * Weekends as needed Licence/Certification: * drivers license and security license (required) Work Location: In person
