We are currently seeking an *ACCOUNTANT* to join our *Accounting Team.*
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for accounting support services to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the Troika Accounting Team. This position is ideal for a results-driven individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for finance in the real estate development and construction sector.
*Key Responsibilities:*
1. Accounts Payable (AP):
· Oversee the approval and coding of AP invoices and employee expense reports.
· Process vendor EFT and cheque payments.
· Act as the primary point of contact for vendor payment inquiries, ensuring timely communication and adherence to company policies.
· Oversight of vendor records, including resolving discrepancies and maintenance of EFT details on file.
2. Accounts Receivable (AR):
· Add and maintain customers in our accounting system.
· Receive and record payments, and handle customer inquiries related to billing.
· Management of AR aging and follow up on outstanding accounts.
3. Month-End Close Support:
· Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries (accruals, prepayments, adjustments & fixed asset), reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate cutoffs.
· Accurately prepare and file GST returns in compliance with relevant tax regulations and deadlines.
· File various accounting related documents including invoices and receipts and make filed documents available when requested from team members.
4. Bank and Balance Sheet & Intercompany Reconciliations:
· Perform various bank, credit card and other balance sheet reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
· Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts, resolve discrepancies, and prepare related journal entries.
5. Financial Reporting & Year-End Support:
· Support the accounting team in audits, year-end preparations, and special projects.
· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; Ensure that all documentation is organized to facilitate an efficient process.
· Support variance analysis and budgeting activities.
